EFFECTIVE WEDDING BUDGETING

Having a precise budget for a wedding can prove to be a difficult task in this part of the  world. This is mainly because of the difficulty in ascertaining the precise number of guests that will be around for the wedding.

Here are some important points to note in budgeting for your wedding:

Meet with your parents/ family members: As a newly engaged/about  to wed couple, it is always advisable to meet with your parents and family members early to know who is sponsoring which aspect of the wedding. Meeting with them will enable you to decide the size of  your wedding. It will also enable you to decide how much of your personal money will go into the funding of the wedding.

Have a tentative guest list: This is something you should also decide with your family members. You have to consider your family size, number of friends and associates and your parents' friends before deciding the guest size. It is never compulsory to have a large number of people at your wedding, but it is important that you talk to your parents before and after deciding the guest size as most of the guests at Nigerian weddings are friends of the parents.

Budget for extra food and drinks: At every event, it is always a risk to order for exactly the number of guests you are expecting. It is possible that people are more than you expected and you don't want guests to leave your reception venue without being properly taken care of. I always recommend that couples order for food and drinks at least 25% above their guest size.

Hire a wedding planner :) now this is very  important, a wedding planner will be able to recommend the best vendors for your budget no matter how small or big. Event planners have many contacts for  different budgets. You may even end up spending less than you budgeted for and a good event planner passes all savings to you.

Most importantly, be calm and know that your day would be perfect, no matter the size of your budget. Have fun all the way!

MODELLING BLISS!

So I got tired of reading for an upcoming exam during the week and decided to find a way to ease up the stress. I therefore decided to go the traditional way - with sugar!
I decided to play with the little fondant paste I had in the house and came up with this sweet little thing:

Teddy Bear

Pig(forgot to mark the eyes before taking this pic #dontmindme#
